OK guys, I've adjusted the valves on my mojave several times, but this time, one of them on the intake side seems really tight. What I mean is that it can be backed out all the way and the feeler gage is still tighter than it should be. Am I missing something here? Have I over looked something? When I get it to where I think it should be, it dosen't run right. Seems like the valves are too tight....no power, backfires etc. I'm stumped...and the ONLY thing my kids want for christmas is this thing to run! HELP!!

your valves are probably sucking into the head. if so, the only cure is to take the head off and replace the valves. I would make sure it is not running lean because that will raise the combustion chamber temp making the valves softer and more likely to suck into the seat area of the head. Replace them with stainless ones if you take it down. Call Greg at CWR (717-637-1907) for valves, he stocks all kinds.

Are you adjusting the valves at the valve or at the cam? Do you have the 2 "dots" on the cam gears at 9 O'clock and 3 O'clock?
Take it apart one more time. Find the "dots" on the gears and put them opposite each other. Adjust the valves to .010 at the valve not the cam.
Send me a PM if you need more help.
