Default How much power loss can I expect from my 650; if any at all?

As you can see on my profile, I have on order a set of ITP 589's on C-Series wheels, a 2" lift and 1.5" spacers for the back wheels, a DG hole shot module, and re-clutching with the EPI black spring. Knowing this, will there be a big drop in power or will the re-clutching and the DG module bring me back up to close to where I was before I put on the "big meats"? I am not so worried about top end as I am about low end torque and take off.

Thanks.

going up in size will cause a power loss no matter how much motor you have. You will just notice less on the 650 because of the gobs of torque it has. Most of the power loss is because ot the increase in traction and added weight. You shouldn't notice a huge difference in power though i would have stayed closer to stock size. But to each there own. Happy trailing and keep the rubber side down.

Size will go up on this, but weight should be lower since I am putting them on alum. wheels instead of the stock steel wheels and if I am not mistaken, Mudlites and 589's should be lower or same as weight on the OEM tires. Correct me if I am wrong.

Rubber stays down mot of the time.

I believe the mudlites are much lighter weight than the 589s.

http://bigbuckrack.com/ITP_Tire_Weight_Chart.htm

Comparing 28" tire, there isnt much of a difference....there isnt a direct comparison, but you could say there is a 3-3.5 lb. difference per tire and the ITP c-series have got to be lighter than the stock steel wheels.

A couple things to consider- the stock rims are aluminum, and quite light, even compared to c-series, but not as tough and durable; 589's and mudlites are quite close in weight but both are quite a bit heavier than the stockers, haven't actually weighed but just by feel, one of my front 27" 589s on c-series feels about the same as both front stockers together; as to any power loss, you can definitely feel the extra weight of the tires, however, after doing exhaust, filter, snorkel, jetting up, and module, my 650 (with traction) will flip right over backwards from a standing start(if you let it). Also, I greatly prefer the ride and handling with the 589's over the stockers, and they're damn good in the mud too, a bit rough on surfaces like pavement but quads just weren't made for pavement anyway. I also think the c-series help out with ride and hhandling as they increase track width by 2" if I'm not mistaken. Have fun with the new tires.
