Default FWIW Mojave vrs. KXF 400 comparison

Just thought I'd jot down a few things I've noticed with the two quads and not state the obvious. The Mojave is a better quad for slow speed creeping along in the woods or rocks since it doesn't stall like the 400. The Mojave also fits between the trees better since it's smaller, more narrow. Both quads tires suck. The Mojave's are too narrow and don't float in snow. The KXF rear tires are too narrow in front and the rims get bashed by rocks and thye knife into snow. The KXF rears arn't too bad, just lack ground clearence. The Mojave rides stiffer than the KXF, and the front shocks resist bottoming better than the KXF.

I'll post more when I get a chance.

Your 400 may need some carb adjustments. I have 100 hours on mine and have yet to stall the engine. If its trail ridding your looking for gear the 400 down or buy a lakota sport, man the lakota seems perfectly fit for trail ridding.

There is no problem with my 400. That's just the way it is, even the mags mentioned it. I believe it is due to the light flywheel. But the light flywheel is also why it is so responsive and revs so quick.

The ride where I stalled a bunch was two weeks after I got it and we rode a very tight technical trail to get into a canyon. It was 45 minutes of first gear, occasionaly second gear riding over fallen trees, around mud, up and down steep hills and wet roots. The Mojave was easier to ride in those conditions.

Mud protection is also a lot better on the Mojave. The stock KXF fenders suck. I guess basically if you ride super tight trails the Mojave is the better quad. Everywhere else the 400 rules.
