Man....you need to put the pipe down. O.K. So you got a new 400 that's great. You are hung up on this "saving money thing," if you were going to go out and buy the 400 and start dumping money into it why not buy a 450 for 600-800 more. They haul azz as is and are wicked fast when modded correctly. You age shines through. Ride-on

Yah, and with the money you save, you can buy a set of 26 inch tires for the 400, then you will have just as much Ground Clearance as a 700 too.
You can spend $2000 on the KFX400 and still will not produce as much Torque as you will have with a stock KFX700.
I'm not trying to push you into anything. The truth is that I am in a unique position having both a KFX400 and a KFX700. This allows me to switch back and fourth and to ride both quads under the same riding conditions. From this experience, I have found repeatedly that the 700 is more versatile and aside from being easier to ride it is also more fun. Understand, that when I go to the Dunes, I spend the majority of my time on the 400. I prefer it to the 700, because of the manual transmission. This is the case, even though I personally think that the 700's shear grunt is a kick in the A**, especially when climbing up the taller Dunes. Where the 400 goes up everything at a maintained steady speed, the 700 just keeps accelerating until you either let off or you get to the top. Now as far as Trail riding goes, I won't even bother taking the 400 out of the garage. I Trail rode my 400 for about a year before I got my 700. After the first trip out into the woods with the Big V, I knew that my 400 would Never see a Trail again, Period.
Anyway this is getting to be repetitive. All that I can do is give you my experiences and my oppinions. You are the only one that knows what you want, either way it's your choice. Good Luck.

There you go making a jackass out of yourself again SnOw. You are always good for a laugh are you the paid court jester?
Want the story on the V? GNCC results speak for themselves.
If the "V" handles like a pig, why is it kicking *** on the GNCC circuit? Team green doesn't sit around and argue all day about how crappy the V does in corners, they just go out and race it and get the fastest time on the course, time, and time, and time again. I wonder what a guy with a bunch of trophies he won riding the V-Force would say if you wanted to argue with him about how sucky the V is?
KFX400 vs KFX700 is like "Do I want a raincoat or a cheeseburger? Hmm." As wise people have said on this subject many times, it's apples and oranges.

Did you bother to look at the times that the V is turning in? GNCC isn't MX. Those guys haul *** through nasty terrain, not ovals around a groomed course. Like I said... it isn't a TRX450R or a YFZ450. If MX is your thing, go ahead and get a 400, although you'll get worked by the 450s. If trails are your thing, and you want to ride all day, you will own the terrain with a V.

You're right TahoeRider the V dominated the utility unlimited, but not just utility unlimited.. here's a quote from Adam Howell as interviewed by ATV Scene:
ATV Scene: How did you guys do this year at the GNCCs?
Adam: I'm the 4 Stroke Stock National Champion. I won it on a Kawasaki Team Green supported V-Force.
So not just utility unlimited... but also 4 stroke stock. If your research ends after reading one article, you're quitting too early.

You V owners get so defensive...Gotta wonder why?

Just enjoy your quad and quit bashing everyone elses. For some reason the "die hard" clutch guys have a hard on for picking on the V. It just gets old. There is no reason to bash someones else ride.

No one is getting defensive, it's just that when you go out of your way to post Half Truths, it looks as if you have an agenda. In your own post you stated "In the Unlimited Utility Class..I'm not being a dick here this is true. ". While it is true that the V won the Unlimited Utility Class, it's success was not limited to the Utility Class. By your omission regarding the success of the V in other classes within the GNCC, you are not giving the whole story.
Your proper response to this information should have been, Thanks for the info, I was unaware of that.
Another thing that I think that people are over looking, is that all of this success came in the KFX700's First year of competition. I'd say that's not too bad for a Freshman competitor.

Look man!! Where did I bash your quad..You're too defensive.
I read an article that talked about how the V did in the Utility class. So I mentioned it. I gave the whole story..The one I read.
I am not going out of my way to find other results when all I did was post about an article I read.
Here's my agenda..To ignore childish people on internet forums who are totally closed minded to anything except what they purchased.
Enjoy your riding!!!
