Default Dial-a-jet pointers for p650?

Just ordered a Dial-a-Jet kit for my P650. Any pointers on the install and setup?

WVBartman, what size main jets are you running. My setup will be similar to yours. My pipe is drilled out and will have the Napa Radiator Hose snorkel installed. I'm hoping that the stock mains will have the carbs leaned out enough so that i don't have to go smaller.

anyone else have this setup and pointers on it?

thanks for the help

CARTMAN...If you still have the stock jets, & the muffler modded & the snorkle, the stock jets should be small enough to start with... but I'd give Thunder Products a call, they were very helpful, when the dealership tech did the custom install on mine...

Cartman,
I just got off the phone with Thunderproducts and was told that if you add a high-flow air filter and aftermarket exhaust, then the stock main jets and stock needles should be fine for the dial-a-jet (for 90% of their customers it works out fine they said). Hoever, they said the dial a jet does not affect the idle mixture...so if you have a lean or rich condition at idle, then you may still have to change the pilot jet on your carb (she said that only a few aftermarket pipes recommend changing the pilot jet).

I recommend that you call them yourself as they seemed very helpful. I am now planning to add a dial-a-jet in February (at same time that I do the Nyroc Mod and add a Napa hose snorkel). Please report back your experience installing your dial-a-jets and your results so that I will know what to expect!

Happy trails...

I sure will. When i get the kit inhand i'll give'em a shout. My mods are listed below and hopefully the stock mains will be fine! Not sure when i'll get to install though.....weather has turned sour and i don't have a garage to work in It may be awhile before i get to put it all together......unless a neighbor lets me use his garage for awhile.

thanks for the help fellas! much thanks!!!

Cartman you got that Dial-a-Jet in yet. I’ve been waiting to hear what the results are. I went ahead and ordered one and will go on with out you. HeHe. Anyway it’s coming and I don’t have winter weather to wait on to put it in. Hope it works out as planned. I have not touched the exhaust yet, still don’t know what I want. The HMF is to loud. I was told DG is louder. Think I might go with the FMF Q series. Any input will be gladly read. Oh before someone suggest cutting up and drilling my stock pipe, it looks like crap. Rusted and crap like. By the way it’s only a free mod when you have a welder, long drill bit, something to cut it with and so on. I’ll just put that money into a new pipe. Just don't know which pipe.

How much did you guys pay for the Dail-a-jets?
Is the install very difficult?
Can they perform reliably?

Can I possibly ask any more questions?
Thanks

Is the snorkle required or can the Napa hose trick work?

It’s a different snorkel. This snorkel is for the dial-a-jet. Check out their web site and you will see what’s up.
