What is the best way to bypass the rev limiter when in reverse?Causes my atv to backfire now when the limiter kicks in.
I just want it to go away but still want the reverse light to work...any ideas...

Yo, A guy named Freakazoid Has posted step by step instructions on how he did it. But for how much we use our reverse its really not necesary!! )One more thing I noticed you run a big main jet -I have 180 . how many turns out on your air screw are you?

Best way to eliminate the reverse circuit is to remove the wire from the connection to the cdi. There is a red wire with white stripe this is the reverse limiter. On the connector when you pull it off there is a red plastic insert in the plug. Pull out the insert you then can push the wire end back through the connection with a small blunt object. The wire will then be exposed on the outside of the connection you can wrap it up with tape to stop it from shorting out any metal it may touch. Reinstall the red plastic insert to keep the other prongs from dislodging and reconnect the plugin.......done. No more reverse limiter you can now go backwards just as fast as forwards, make sure you hang on.

Alltoys, KFXCarnage was wanting to know how to bypass the circuit on a KFX 400 (not the 700). Once that is done it will only go as fast as the reverse gear ratio will allow, not the same speed as in forward "gear" like on the V-Force (75 mph in reverse? - Yikes!)...

2TV,
OOps, KFX400 does it have a KFX700 cdi LOL. Oh well I should read down a little farther instead of assuming. I did learn that in school once a long time ago about assuming that is LOL. Carnage kindly disregard this post and my last post........unless of course you intend to buy a KFX700 LOL. Take care have fun!!!!

interesting...(put the large washer under the clip on the needle) confused me there. What kind of difference did it make?
I was owning rappy's with extended swing arms and full pipe kits and rejet paddle tires etc. in a drag up too 65 yards in the sand then they would pass me.They were like what in the world have I done to my engine hehe when I told them I ran a 175 main jet there jaws droped to the ground.I forget what the two rappy's were running for there main but it was smaller in both.

Hey, Yea the stock needle on ours only has one clip position - so in order to raise that needle to get more fuel to our mid the big washer can go under the clip. My nephew has a raptor -we jetted it at 160-165. three turns on both air. Very fast!! In a drag first three gears are mine. Then he pulls away. Wish I could have gotten the orange, Looks good.
