PROGRESSIVE Springs.... LOVE THEM!!
#1
I just wanted to say that I've had my Progessive Springs on my P700 now for a month, and I LOVE THEM!!! What a difference it has made in an already awesome bike!
Basics...
- Easy to install in about 2hrs counting making a jig to compress the spring and remove the retainer c-clip.
- Ride is as smooth as stock on smooth / slightly rough terrain.
- NEVER bottoms out in the front!!
- No more feeling like I'm going to roll-over on a hard corner, or nose diving under hard braking!!
- I usually leave them at 2 cranks from the lowest tension setting, unless I'm plowing with my 60" cycle country plow.
I consider this a MUST HAVE for the Prairie!!!

Ditto. Next to tires, I think they are the best bang for the buck mod.
I recently had a chance to try them on a high speed, bermed-corner track: they far exceeded my expectations. Hard to beleive a 600+ lb. machine can be made to handle that good.

I recently installed the Progressive springs on my P650 (with the lowest pre-load setting) and I tried them out for the first time just 2 days ago on a local MX track. My initial reaction to these springs is that they are definitely better than stock...but I haven't put in enuf seat time to know exactly how much better. From just my ride at the track this week, I could tell that it no longer bottoms out on the whoops section (where it used to bottom out often with stock springs) and it seems to be as smooth as stock springs when riding on smooth surfices (like a good dirt road). I noticed that it corners better at high speed too.
For me, the jury is still out with respect to riding over heavily bumpy areas at fast speeds. My front end seemed to bounce all over the place when doing this. I think the problem is that my tires are aired up to max pressure (7 lbs). That pressure worked great with the (soft) stock springs, but I think I need to take some air out now that I have the (stiffer) Progressives.

the Progressives did well for fast trail riding. DEFINATELY no bottoming out, no "Prairie Push" in the turns!
I was told that the Elka springs are double rate. Hope they are worth the extra $$$$!
