Question for KFX400 owners
#1
I have just about racked up 10 Hrs on Dad's new KFX400 ( Dad don't do snow ). I plan on changing the oil/filter this weekend and checking the valves. After that, we are going to put on a full exhaust/K+N and rejet. My question is if a new CDI such as Vortex, Big Gun, White Brothers, Procom Engineering, etc. is worth the investment ? We are rying to get the most out of the motor w/o a big bore kit right now. I have a Vortex CDI on one of the dirtbikes and like it enough though I'm curious how they perform on a 4 stroke. Dad really doesn't NEED the dual curves of the Vortex, so I'm leaning towards either the big gun or the Procom CDI and rectifier. Any thoughts or personal experience with any of the above would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance !

Thanks for the reply Cliff. I just won a cdi and rectifier on ebay ( Procom). I'll put them on before the exhaust/K+N to see how they perform on their own. Just need to wire in a tach now.

Yea how did it run?
I'm looking into getting an aftermarket rev box/cdi but don't know which one to go with.I don't want the one were you have to buy the pc to program it.I want one that has a set power curve. Is the Yosh like that?
