Nyroc I was under the understanting that the 650 only had one disc in the back and I just thought the 700 was the same. Is the drain plug new to the 700 too?

KAWI650... right from the start, it was said to be a wet mutidisk system... I never knew exactly how many there were, but always knew there was at least more than one...

the rear brake is multi-disc. I do not know how many, either, but could find out. Why would this info be needed? I don't understand your question RE: oil drain plug. ???????????? All P-650 and P-700 drain plugs are the same, engine, frt. diff., and rear diff.

I believe he was questioning the drain on the bottom of the CVT cover that allows water to escape rather than be burned off as steam out the vent.

The reason why I'm asking about the rear brake is I know the rear brake on the 650 is bulletproof but there's something different with the rear brake on my 700. I don't know what it is. My 650 if you put on the rear brake ( properly and fully adjusted) with my 589's the rear tires wouldn't skid But if you set the parking brake and tried to move it it wouldn't. My 700 will lock-up the rear tires and skid. Also with the engine brake with the 700 in 2wd on ice the rear tires would skid as well you have to put power back to the wheels to pull the bike back into control. Anyone that travels on ice in 2wd knows how easy it is to loose control with the back tires locked. Most people on the praire uses 4wd on ice etc so they wouldn't get what I'm getting. And yes I'm talking about a belt drain plug? I'll be looking around this weekend.

Jason - any 650/700 with a properly working rear brake will lock up the tires (any sized tire) w/o any problems.

I was told that(by a reliable source) the P-650/P-700 are the same rear brake set-up. DO be carefull, when making the brake adjustment. I adj. mine a little "snug", and after 10 miles, my diff got blistering hot!!!!!! I had trouble re-adjusting the cables then.
I forgot about the belt drain on the 700 belt covers. I siliconed mine in place. Was afraid I might catch it on something in a "crap hole".

nyroc,

Local Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer told me a couple of days ago that the current Twin Peaks will be history when the new 700 single comes out. He said it was just a one year thing so Suzuki could fill a gap needed with a big bore.
For what it's worth.

I saw an ATV program on TV a couple weeks ago(might have been Fisher's ATV World). They were at a Zuki show and interviewed a Zuki rep and he said that they were going to retain the Twin Peaks and also will be producing a utility with IRS and what not. He was bragging about how Zuki will be the only manufacturer to have both a solid axle and an IRS 700cc ATV in their line-up. It sounded to me like they plan on producing the Twin Peaks after the IRS machine comes out. He also said that each machine will appeal to a different market segment, whatever that entails.
