Default Help New Warn Winch problems

Just received my new 2.5 warn winch yesterday. So I have been installing it today On my p700. I have everything mounted and hooked up. But When I disengage the the clutch for it to freespool to pull it out by hand it won.t budge And also when I press the rocker switch for the cable to come out the winch makes a loud noise while the cable is coming out and the motor is on the left side of the atv while you are setting on it and the cable is coming off of the top of the spool like the directions say. So I then took the winch back out of it and turned it completely around on the floor and while standing on it and pulling the cable out and the cable is coming off of the bottom of the spool this time it will pull out. so what is the deal would the cable be wound backwards there is no way you can mount the winch on the mounting bracket with the motor on the opposite side. Cause of the way the mounting bracket is drilled. HAVE i MISSED SOMETHING HERE... HELP ME OUT GUYS.

Thanks Coyotecaller

Default Help New Warn Winch problems

Give Warn a call, I found them to be helpful when I had problems with the quick disconnects for my multmount 3000 install. They sent me new connectors. Their customer service is great. Go to their website or call 1.800.910.1122.

Ask for more decals too. They will send them free.

It might be that either you could not fully disengage the freespool ****,(mine is kind of a bitch) or maybe when mounted the first time you have not seen where maybe you pinched or compressed the spool and kept it from moving.

It could be that maybe the in/out wiring is backwards but I don/t think that will affect how it comes off the roller.

What kind of mount bracket if any are you using?
