2002 Prairie Belt Reset Light?
#1
I hear rumors that my 2002 Prairie will trip the belt light or something at 100 hours? is this true or a rumor? Some say the 2002 model is not effected.. Does anyone know the Truth? I have 95 hrs on mine now and I don't want to get stranded..!!
Thanks for any info!

I have an '02 with many more hours on it than 100...LOL... the check belt feature is on '03 models & newer... you have nothing to worry about at 100 hours...
However... at 100 hours would be a good time to lube the bushing on the secondary clutch... this may save you some expense down the road, as the '02 secondary has an inferior design, & is suspect for early replacement ( I had to replace my entire secondary clutch at 1,200 miles ), & lubing this bushing may help the secondary clutch last longer...

Newbeatle are you talking about the lubing the driven pulley? If not then exactly what?.I just replaced my belt and shimmed it right and all is well but I only have 700 miles on it.I did relube the buttons and the shaft on the driven pulley.

Kodiak...yes the bushing on the driven pulley ( secondary ) may last longer, if some preventitive maintenance is done... at the time, for mine, no one was suggesting this, & I had to replace the entire driven pulley assembly, & since I hadn't heard about the problem, before hand, I went through 2 belts in 3 months... a costly lesson... If this info helps anyone else out, it will make my initial investment less painfull...
there should be no wobble between the fixed & moveable sheeves on the driven clutch, it should feel tight...
