I don't know how fast it would go before but I know it was a lot faster than 30. The take-off is great. It runs away from my Eiger for about 30 feet then the E flies past and away. The P never would run with the E but it wasn't embarassed either.

If I can get this low end and keep my top end I'll be in quad heaven.

The P is a lot more fun on the trails with this spring, But we need speed, Scotty.

 

I think I might have lost maybe 1 or 2 mph on top end (maybe) with the black spring when i use it, but I certainly have never droped down to 30 mph. Do you have a speedomoter on your P-360? is your belt loose? who installed the spring, you or the dealer?

Same deal, but didnt lose what you lost. I installed all of the below and low end is AWESOME!!!! but cant get any top speed(although I do a little better than 30) Seems like engine revs nice in low range, but will not get high rpms in high range. Something to do with belt not climbing up on clutch pulley????????

 

We installed it and removed the big shim to stop belt squeal (it did).
The P360 doesnt have a spedo but my Eiger does. We were wondering if there is a different spring for the 700 and the 360 and if maybe they sent us the wrong one. I've been trying to get hold of EPI but the tech is always out to lunch.

The low end punch is AWSOME!!!

 

I removed both shims (thick one and thin one) when installing black spring. Belt squeals a little at idle in gear (ican live with that)

 

Not sure about the P360, but I did timed drag tests on my P650 last summer before and after installation of EPI black secondary spring. My timed tests and top-speed runs found that the black spring made no significant difference in acceleration or top-speed on my quad.

I got hold of tye at epi and he told me that the 700 650 and 360 use the same spring and setup. He said removing the shim may have caused the drop in topend. I cant see it. As soon as the sheave starts to open the shim becomes immaterial.

oldmanmoses, what kind of topend do you have? It looks like you have done some interesting mods. how does it perform now?

We are going to the dealer this evening and looking at the 700 and 650. We'll ride em both and see what kind of deal he will offer on a trade of a p360 and an Eiger for a pair of 700s. Checking out the AC 650 too. My dealer carries everything but Yamaha.

 

Top end sucks---I lost a mph or two when I did black spring and removed shims, but I got it back with dial a jet. But still "TOP END SUCKS"

Seems like I cant rev out in high range!! Low range tachs real nice though.

When posters are talking about top end, COMPARED TO WHAT????????? I can top out at 47 mph going downhill, but on a good uphill grade i am lucky to pull 30 mph!!

I realize 360 is not a lot of cc's for such a heavy bike, but my mods were worth it for acceleration and midrange power. A good comparison would be that bike now pulls in 4 wheel drive like it did before mods in two wheel drive.

But the reason i bought the 360 over the 700 was for my personal safety --- most of my friends ride Polaris 500's and I know I would have been showing off with the 700 and killed myself.

 

Your top end's seem low.. I can hit 47-48 on a flat road & I ride in high elevations 7000 +.. I have done as high as 54 going downhill..

True it is not great on top end, but I certainly wouldn't call it week, it's sufficent.

 

Only way I'm seeing 50 is in the back of my ford going down the interstate.

Maybe my engine is still a little tight, less than 50 hours on it. At 100 hours I will be putting synthetic in engine, gearbox, and front diff.

Another thing I do is run 9lbs pressure in all my tires. Tried running recommended air but bangs my rims up to much, lotta rocks in my neck of the woods.

I wonder what would happen with one of these cdi boxes all the bad boys with the 650 and 700's are talking about were installed on the measly 360??
