Default HELP! P360 top speed now only 30mph with black spring.

By top end I mean speed on level ground in 2wd. We haven't had a chance to tackle the mountain yet, but I suspect that she is gonna RIP UP the hill like she runs on level ground.

The CDI box does look interesting but noone seems to know a cost yet.

Kaw offers spring spacers for higher elevations. Put in enough and they would act like the black spring but I wonder if the softer spring would then allow the sheave to open up fully? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

3k and the 360 gets me into a new 700. Rode it last night and it is AWSOME. $3000.00?!! (thats a lot o zeros for a toy). I would say that it would be all the quad I'll ever need and never will need to buy another 1 the rest of my life. (who am I kidding?) But when I got off the 700 the first impression was "it needs the black spring" then Rob says "and a jet kit". Arg, we'll never be satisified. (Did I mention the salesman told us that Suzuki is coming out with a 700 fuel injected, single cylinder, full irs, radically styled King quad???!!!) Really a Arctic cat 4x4 250 is all someone really NEEDS, but I need power, Scotty.

A few years ago this quad would have been the big boy of the class. 360 is awsome until you get used to the power and start looking for more and the ads tell you about the power and you friends get 650s as entry level machines.

Oh well, I really love the machines I ride and if I get the ultimate quad then I lose all the fun in tinkering with em.

Wow Eiger

your comment 'She's gonna rip up the hills like she does on level ground is a pretty bold statement. Although I have climbed some pretty steep ones in my short time with this machine, I have never ran out of power , but on any decent hill, it loses power real fast down to about 30mph . At 30 mph it will continue without losing or gaining any more speed. This is what I would like to overcome with this bike. I traded a bayou 220 in on this one and the bayou would do 53 on the level and never drop below 35 on a hard road. Once again, I realize there is a lot of weight to the 360, but I will not cease in my journey to increase to at least match the Bayou220

You say that she loses power about 30 up a hill? Well we cant get 30 on level ground. So I guess its not really that bold, is it?

Default HELP! P360 top speed now only 30mph with black spring.

I dont know there is a cheap way to get these things up to say 50 mph on a consistent basis, I have tried several different springs & also have installed lighter clutch weights & nothing seams to help the top end, all any thing effects is low & mid range. To me it sounds like the engine has the ponys but the clutch wont allow the speed to increase?? just my thoughts, right now it's just something you cant get past, but then again if all I was concerned about was top speed I'd of bought the 650
