Pic's to show why the CPSC age limit is dumb!

I have 3 daughters and all are under 16. By CPSC and Manufactor's neither of them can operate a atv over 90cc. Some dealers won't even sell them if they know it's going to a under age child. But take a look at these pic of my daughters on our Scram 90.
9 year old Now by CSPC she is to be on a 50cc, but buy looking at the pic, she fit's the 90 like a glove, and she drives it the same way.
12 year old She's 12 and feels a little cramp on it, but by CPSC is to be on it for another 4 years. She now rides a 250ex, and does quite well with it.
14 year old Her knees are about to hit the fenders, and she can't steer without hitting her legs. She's taller then my wife, and she handle's her Z-250 better then a lot of 14 year olds.
Now these are girls. I've seen some of my daughters boy class mate's, and they were quite a bit bigger. I feel if I was forced to make them ride the 90, they would hate riding, and most likley get hurt more because of there size. Something needs to be done, because when people hear that my kids are riding bigger then 90cc atv's, they think I'm being a irresponsible parent, no matter how good they are. And some places won't even let them ride. Yet, they can run a bigger dirt bike or snowmobile. Makes no sense.

I'll agree 100% on that. I have been riding since I have been 12 and that was on an old honda three wheeler. I then got a suzuki 175 dirtbike (old but still ran good) and that was when I was 14 or 15. at that time my dad bought a magnum 500 and a trailblazer 250...I liked the quads better so I kinda took the 250 as mine and I fit... I could have actually probably fit it when I was twelve...I have had no major accidents...actually I have never done damge (besides scratchs) to any of them. I have never done any damage to myself either. The "suggested" rider's age is really pointless imho.
"sure...a 12 year old with proper training can jump on a snowmobile that can go well over 100....but NEVER will they be able to ride a quad that goes faster then what...maybe 30?"
just my .02
and your pictures do not work either

GE4x4, I can't see the pictures....says unaccessable. Do I have to be a member?? I hear what your saying though. My 7 year old and 9 year old ride their Predator 90 just fine. As you said "it fits them like a glove".

those age limits are a bunch of bull. i learned on my grandpa's bayuo 220 when i was 10, almost a year later i was on his p300, then his 400 at 14. I got my 650 barely after i turned 16 and i feel i can handle it just as good as the next guy.

Well said GE4X4. The industry likes it because people have to buy new quads for their family every other year. More $$$'s for them. Common sense goes along way here.

I definetly agree. my dad had me riding atvs since i could walk...(literally). i started on a ATC-70 , i was half of the age limit. yet i could handle it just fine. when i was 11, and going on 12.....we got our first Full-size atv. it was a 400cc 2-stroke utility quad. and i was able to handle that just fine. i think the age limits should be lowered atleast 2 years per-class...if not MORE. Stupid government.
if it where up to me, there would not even be an age limit at all. it should go by a skill-limit instead. like when you turn old enough to upgrade to full size, than take a test....if you pass than you ride, if you fail...than just like drivers-ed you come back in a week and try it again....LOL!!! yeah right. our government is too blind to see that these age-limits are rediculous.

I totally agree as well. It would seem that your older daughters would be in more danger on an undersize quad than to move up. It just goes to show you that those who make the laws, probably have never rode a quad, much less sat on one. Your are so right!
