i have a 85 kawasaki bayou 185. it is very hard to pull start it when i first try to start it, after its been running it starts up fast but the fist of the day is hard. i rebuilt the carb. could my choke be bad? if i open the throtle and spray in startinf fuild it starts . seems like the is not enought gas to fire it up after not running for awhile.

Actually it sounds like you got a handle on the situation. Not many 19 year old quads still around and running.
Try doing the regular maintance, such as new plug, clean and oil air filter, adjust idle speed and mixture screws. Does it seem to spin over slower when cold? You could try synthetic oil, it wouldnt drag as bad when cold.

Try turning the gas petcock off if it's going to be sitting for a while. Leaving it on can actually flood the carb while it is sitting for an extended period.
