Hi guys, my belt has never sliped under a load or at take off, BUT when the engin beake hits hard (going down hill fast then hittinh a level spot) it SCREAMS like crazy for a few feet. is this normal? ive never heard of the engin brake causeing the belt to slip? I baught every thing to make a spring compresser today, so tomorrow ill be takeing out a shem and installing a black spring, my belt has 900 miles on it and i can still hit 63mph so mabey its not in too bad of shape.

 

My belt was worn past its limits at 1000 miles. I have a new one coming.

 

mine did the same thing, it was a bad actuator

 

nightridder... was that coverd in your warrenety? how did you find out that thats what it was?

 

i dont have a warenty, but they should cover it if you have one ($234 part) it would make a very high picthed screeching noise not only when it was engageing but every now and then when i shut it off. since the new actuator was installed i havent heard any screeching or had any abrupt engine breaking
