Amsoil Differential Additive?
#2
Are you saying they have a differential additive? Or are you just going to use 0w40 synthetic engine oil?
Synthetic will reduce the shavings you get in the front diff, but your locker won't lock nearly as well with 0w40. I have been using mobil v-twin (20w50) in the front diff and it is OK but still a little thin to make the diff lock well. My shavings are dramatically reduced. I may try a thicker lube next time. Maybe Torco RTF, or a 50/50- mix of Torco RTF and amsoil 0w40. I am not going to use mobil 1 (MX4T) in my engine anymore since amsoil is just as good or better and costs less.
Get something thicker than 0w40 in synthetic. Synthetic motor oils were formulated for use in an engine that the oil reaches 180 degrees. So you can compare a 0w40 dinosaur oil to a 0w40 synthetic in an ENGINE, but not a diff that never gets hot. So if you put 0w40 synthetic in it, the oil will be way to thin for the VSD (vari slip diff).

Thanks NYROC,
They make a additive http://www.amsoil.com/products/ada.htm. The stock weight is 10w 40 right? I will be using there Series 2000 20w 50 racing sythetic in my motor and front differetial with 2oz. of additive. We shall see how it works.
