Just a heads up on Galfer brake lines for the V-Force....
#1
I finally got around to installing my Galfer stainless steel brake lines (just added a picture to my photo page - third row down all the way to the right....click to enlarge). Everything went great until I went to bleed the lines and found a defect in one of the banjo fittings. The metal fitting had what looked like a tiny wrinkle in it and out of that "wrinkle" came brake fluid. This leak was not at a crimp point but out of the side of the fitting itself. The reason I am mentioning this is because it was not isolated to just my brake lines. When I called the place I bought them from they checked the other 2 sets of brake lines for the V-Force that he got in for stock and these had the same defect. Nothing like spending an hour setting up and trying to bleed your new lines only to find out you have to yank them back off because of a leak. I will say that Galfer did respond quickly and I have 100% confidence in Galfer's products. Every manufacturer will have a problem now and again, it's how the manufacturer handles the problem is what counts and Galfer responded like champs. So the long and short of it is if you have recently purchased Galfer brake lines check your banjo fittings CAREFULLY...... this imperfection in the fitting was VERY hard to see......until it started squirting brake fluid that is.

I should have my new brake lines today or tomorrow. Normally they could have gotten them to me in a day or so but because I am routing them through the aluminum clamps I'm having them make the lines 3" longer on each side......they fit better this way (could have gotten away with + 2" now that I've had the + 3" mounted). As far as the cost goes I can't tell ya how much they cost. My buddy owns a high performance bike shop and the brake lines were part of a trade. I know I've seen them for around $95 on different web sites. Galfer's web site is: www.galferusa.com
