new tires for prairie
#11
I have heard that the Dirt Devils last longer than most aggressive tires do. I am starting to lean towards Maxxis All Tracs and I think I am going to put the 10 inch wides on the front buy 9 inch rims and get 25x12x9 for the rears that way I get the extra float I want and don't have to get taller tires. I just hope the taller sidewalls dont make the rears want to roll under.

In a side by side comparison, the ATR's dwarf the OE Dunlops in width. The height is the same. You sound like you are the perfect candidate for them. I love them. Maxis All Tracks are in the same category but are not as ply rated as the ATR's. I had a set of Bear Claws on a 2K Kodiak Auto 4X4 and they really let me down horribly on hard steep inclines and rode very rough, I road several miles on one that was flat. The first thing I noticed about the claws was the bump or root steer increase over the OE's. The handle bars were painfully and constantly being snatched and jerked in the rough technical stuff.
Some question their (ATR's) durability. I have given them every opportunity to pop. Then again I know a fella that has the OE Dunlops worn almost slick and he rides them everywhere we go.
I say the ATR's for the radial effect on handling and practically no root steer. To me they are like suction cups. I was in WindRock recently and they constantly impressed me.
Good Luck
