PS: When I mention gears I should call them sprockets. That makes more sense.

Realisticly I'll do the 33" tires ... they are about 1/3 the price of the ultra cool 37" Rice & Canes ... 10" of tool steel, ultra light wheel spacers of my design, the wheels will only have about 1" of back spacing, & I'll at least have some steering, but obviously not lock to lock steering ... It is my intent that the tires will sit fully outside of the fenders & floor boards... the tire & wheel combos in the 33" size weigh less than 50 lbs... no more than a typical 28" mud tire, mounted ... the black secondary spring & a spare belt ( I currently have a new 360 belt installed ) plus the primary spring I pick that works the best for those specific tires, will be the extent of the CVT mods... low range & a little easy on the throttle, & they should work ... I intend to compete in the SRA class, as well as the open class... I wish I could talk Dyna out of a CDI for the race, but even if they are released by then, I'll have any spare jing tied up in new tires & wheels, & the trip down... ( 900 miles, one way )

How do they determine what goes in the small mud hole for the non lifted quads?

I think 25" paddles all the way around would be more fun. Just like a real mud bogger get up on top and fly across.

I've seen a Zilla with paddles run within 1 second of 4x4's in a 150 ft mud pit.

E.E. that is one of the sets of tires I'm taking.... SSSHHHH... however, in reality, the paddles will only work if there is none ( or at least minimal )water on top of the mud... so now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll have the 25" paddles, my regular 28" Zilla's, & the 33" tractor treads...

Tall and narrow is the order of the day!! Have you ever seen a model T stuck they used to go through much more stuff than a 4x4 of today will do!! Tall, narrow with big lugs there is a set of tires called AG tires that are would work excellent. With a big bore kit it will motor across the mud. I use 27 inch Outlaws with lots of wheel spin almost impossible to stop good luck at the Nationals let us now how it turned out.

As bad as I'd like to run the 37" Rice & Canes, they won't guarentee that I'd have them in time, so it looks like I'll have to do the 33"...

But...you can check them out on the Firestone site
