Default Which Spring for the Dunes

Hello,

I have been looking around this sight about cluch springs for my V Force. I ride 100% in the dunes and was wondering which spring would be the best for my V. I emailed Dalton and they told me that the kit with the blue spring and weights is more geared towards trail riding, also mentioned that alot of riders are just using the blue spring. I'm looking for a mild upgrade, I dont just want a spring for just drag racing.

If you can suggest a couple to order and try out I would appreciate it.

Mike

I have the EPI pink. I just got back from my first ride since I put on the pink. (well I rode in the snow with it but I couldn't tell any dif.) I have 2 extra shims installed and this realy does good. I raced a pred. I beat him to the 300' mark. (where the V does great!) After that he slowly walked by. He didn't want to race from a standstill anymore. He wanted a rolling start about 10 or 20 mph. I then could not keep up. I can't wait to try this in the dunes!

HappywithVForce- I have the pink spring(as of yet uninstalled) did you try it without the shims? If not, where are they said to improve/change? Stall or Shiftout or both- wondering if I should get some coming for install....

I installed the pink and added the shims at the same time. The differance I noticed is the stall (you give it a little gas and it takes a bit more rpms to get the V to move). You don't have that flat spot at 40 mph, it pulls good to topend.

Each shim you add will raise the engagement and shiftout rate very slightly

I'm just running the Polaris Yellow, no weights or clutch kit, I was running the HPD Plain but I wanted to bring my shiftout down a little. I haven't had a chance to run it really hard yet but from just riding around my house I like the feel of it. I bought the spring from Hotseat. I think someone had one for sale on Kawieriders you might want to try there.
