Is there anyway I can add an aftermarket hour meter/ odometer?
#1
I recently bought a Prairie 400, and wanted to know if i could put some type of after market hour meter on it, so i can keep track of the hours? Even possibly a speedometer and odometer? I'm not looking to spend alot of money, so does anyone know if this would be possible? It doesn't even have to be from Kawasaki or an ATV place, would anytype of hour meter work and would it be possible to install and if so how?
Please post if you have any ideas.

Go to a store that sells marine products and buy a hour meter(mabey $ 20-$25) and tap into a wire that is hot when the ignition is on. Mount the meter under the seat.

On the way home with new V purchase I stopped at West Marine and got an hourmeter. Most all I have seen are 6-36 volts. Soon as it came out of the truck I made a mount and wired it up to key on power. I used a rectangular style(a little smaller than round) May I suggest when using butt connectors fill them with silicone dielectric grease before crimping to prevent corrosion.(they always do) available at auto parts stores.
