New P700 Owner advice, Please
#1
Ok, so after a long long process of checking out new utility machines, I've decided on the P700. My aztec red baby is getting a warn 2.5 as we type. What I want to know is, what do you current owners know now, that you wish you would have when you first got the bike? I have heard about replacing the spring, but I'm not sure which one, and which one to replace it with. What kind of bolt ons do you think really added to the usability of your P. I do some trail riding, some ranching, and a little playing in the mud. The P feels planted, but with enough clearance to ride over most of my obstacles.

Get rid of the stock tires! I will never buy another quad without replacing them as part of the deal.
Also try the Nyroc Muffler mod..... free and very cool sounding.
Am doing the black spring and re-jetting this weekend......wish me luck.

I second the tires followed by new front springs. I wish I had made them trade me out of the crappy tires when I bought mine. Next one won't have those dunflops on it when it loads on my trailer coming from the dealer.

It sounds like you ride for the same reasons I do and therefore I suggest you may want to stay with stock size tires rather than some big honkers that rob your power and put you up in the air more. IMHO, the best feature of the Prairie is that 'planted' feeling with its low center of gravity. Enjoy a great bike.

Just to let you guys know I have 26 mudruuner and my 650 lost few MPH on top end. But then added primary spring and now has more torque on lower end. If I was going to buy tires I would look at Mud Lites first. just a suggestions .But get the Dunflops off the 700 before you get hurt. (flip)

You've got a lot of performance in a stock machine. Without a single mod, you'll still outrun many sport quads. I would ride the machine first, and then decide how you'll dial it in for your own preferences.
Good choice getting the Warn. Two days ago, my wife and I had to winch both our quads through the snow. We were trapped in a small canyon (it's easy going down through the snow, but coming back up, forget it). Without the winches, I would have no choice but to donate my quads to the forest until the spring thaw, and take the 11 mile hike back to the truck, followed by a nasty divorce.
