#1-- REAL tires. Get rid of those worthless Dumflops. #2- If you plan on plowing snow and /or riding fast, get the frt. spring and preload adjust kit from Progressive, or ELKA. 3rd on my list is the KSS3 black spring from EPI. THEN, after these, start with exhaust, jetting, etc.
Be safe, have fun.

Default New P700 Owner advice, Please

Ok, so after a long long process of checking out new utility machines, I've decided on the P700. My aztec red baby is getting a warn 2.5 as we type. What I want to know is, what do you current owners know now, that you wish you would have when you first got the bike? I have heard about replacing the spring, but I'm not sure which one, and which one to replace it with. What kind of bolt ons do you think really added to the usability of your P. I do some trail riding, some ranching, and a little playing in the mud. The P feels planted, but with enough clearance to ride over most of my obstacles.
Great choice, keep an eye on the motor mount bolts and the philips head bolts holding the plastic together. It is common for them to become loose.

Question for 700 Priarie owners .Since I own 650 and the plastic S%^%Ks and yes the bolts do come lose.
Did Kawasakii fix the junk plastic on the 700 P or is it the same as 650. The plastic on my 700 V was alot harder (better)
I agree with TRX 450 on all these mods .I did them all yrs ago great improvement. Now just have to find somewhere to ride here in NJ that cops wont ticket.

tampa-- I have no proof, but I BELIEVE that the P-700 black plastic is tougher. Mine is holding up VERY well, and I ride a lot of technical stuff at Hat/McCoy Trails ,in SW WVa. I owned a '02 P-650, and KNOW what you mean!

I went though my black plastic alot faster on my 700 than my 650.... I upgrade both clutch springs with Dalton and Did the Dale frequency thingy.. and installed 2500 warn Ci and did the tire thing... I just added snow tracks to it and got a rear bumper and a gas can carrier on it. I just got a service manual too.
