I WOULD PROBABLY SUGGEST THE 27" MUD LITES.

Newbeatle, How do the Gators compare to the Mudrunners?

Thanks

I just put a set of 28" Mudlites on to replace 27" 589's, the mudlites seem smoother on the road. They also seem better for traction in the snow.

I have a set of 27" mudbugs on one of my 650's and 27"gators on the other. I like the mudbugs the best because they are 5 lbs a piece lighter than the gators. Plus the mudbugs ride much smoother on hardpack than the gators. Every 650 I have seen with gators on the rider is usually complaining about front end wobble. Most of all the mudbugs are 1/2 the price of gators. Needless to say I will never buy another set of gators...

I have to agree. I have 27" Gators and have a bad front end wobble. Tried adjusting the pressure with no luck. You don't notice it so much on the trail, but on pavement they wobble real bad.

i'd suggest mudbugs for mud and trail. Had Outlaws but they stunk on hardpack.......

as far as front end wobble. You need to check you toe adjustment. Set it to zero and the wobble should greatly decrease or dissappear alltogether. do a search for how to check and adjust.

IMO, Gators don't compare very well to Mudrunners, & while I agree with CARTMAN that adjusting the "toe" may help some, the tread pattern design of the Gators is prone to high speed wobble... Again, IMO, the GBC Mud Hogs are the closest in tread pattern to the Mudrunners... the lugs are skelletonized, instead of solid like the Mudrunners... this will make them wear faster, but should provide a little more traction on both slippery surfaces & hard pack, & make them a few pounds lighter than the Mudrunners...

Yeah I tried the zero toe in thing but the gators were still bad. Even with the original toe in my mudbugs worked great on every type of surface including snow, mud, pavement, gravel etc. I would buy another pair based on the above and the price.
One good point about the gators is that they wore slightly better than the bugs but I could still have bought two sets of bugs for the price of one set of gators.
