Default Some help with handlebars

Hey guys I need some help. I don't know anything about the handle bar options for my V. I know that I like the higher grips on my brother's DS-650. I don't want to have to rebuild my dash or move my key, but I will if I have to I guess. So what are my options and what are the pros and cons? What's so great about the TAG bars that a lot of you guys have?

Thanks for any help.

Get the trail tech X bars and billet clamp. They have 3 different sizes-low rise, medium, and hi rise options. You won't have to move anything wth this setup. I however have the bars and billet clamp/dashboard for the Trailtech computer, I had to relocate my igniton switch to run this setup.

I agree, I have the same set up and am very happy with it. Don't let the idea of relocating the switch turn you away, it's no big deal, very easy to do, Putt

I replaced my handlebars with TAG bars (see my photos) but not the "fat series" you normally see. I replaced mine solely for "cosmetic" reasons....I wanted black bars with a cross bar & pad. These TAG bars fit right onto the stock steering stem and I didn't have to relocate the key. When I eventually get a nice anti-vibration steering stem I'll probably go with the fatter bars.....I've heard they absorb more vibration and are stronger than stock diameter bars.

Mark, nice work, think I might borrow this idea. see here I wanted to cut these out as well, but didn't want the orange to show.

It's picture #5 in Mark's page, the link doesn't show the pic full size.

If you want I have a really good close-up picture of just the hood with the carbon fiber sticker underneath I could e-mail to you. E-mail me if interested: mncreid@epix.net

Mark, are those TAG bars higher than the stock? The Trailtech bars have low, medium(stock) and high bars, and I'm pretty sure I like a higher bar. My arms are short and I like the feel of my brother's DS bars which are higher.
