Tecate Stator Question

Tecate Stator Question
I am having some difficulty with my ignition system on a recently purchased 87 kxf 250 tecate 4. The bike has been sitting for about a year and I am unable to get the ignition system to produce a spark. I I have the problem narrowed down to the CDI unit or the stator. I ordered a new CDI. My question is about the stator. I tested the resistance across the stator and I get 70 Ohms. According to my book this is 10 Ohms above normal. Do you think my stator is bad?
Also I was told the tecates have 6 gears is this correct?

Tecate Stator Question
I would say the stator is bad. If you dont trust your test bring it to a local kaw dealer and have them test it, would be cheaper than throwing parts at it.
I had 2 tecate 3-wheelers and the stator went out in both of them. I had a company called -stator corp- rebuild it for $50 to $75. I dont know the number or location, it was about 6 years ago.
Im not sure on the number of gears, you can check it without the quad running.
