ITP C SERIES WHEELS

I'm thinking of buying some of these for my p700. I was wondering how much lighter are they then the stock rims, im gonna put 26" mudlites on them. Is it worth it?

They will be heavier, but stronger than the stock wheels... basically the stock wheels are as light a duty wheel ( equal to .160" stamped aluminum wheels like Douglas ), as most people would ever want to run... the C series are actually pretty heavy compared to the other stamped aluminum wheels... the type 4's are heavier than the type 5's, which are a little heavier than the type 6's... all of which are heavier than the Douglas & ITP .190" wheels...

i was pretty sure that the c series were lighter than the stock steel wheels. I know that the douglas and itp wheels are .160 and .190, not .019 thickness. difference in the 4 and 5 is pattern, lighter weight on the 5, and a stronger wheel edge. The 6 is chrome like and has the same design as the 5 and the 6 has an even stronger rolled edge.

The stock wheels on the 360 / 650 / 700 Prairies are & have always been aluminum... the older 300 Prairies, & perhaps the 400's ( not sure about the 400's ), where steel though...
I'll have my type 6's tommorow... I could throw them on a scale to see about the weight... I was under the impression that the type 6's, had the same ( but milled thinner & polished ) rim as the type 5's ???
oooops... typo on the .019"...LOL

I read on itp's website that it had a stronger rolled edge than the other 2. I may have misread, but I'm pretty sure about it. I had a set of type 4's on a honda rancher. I'm in the market for more for my p and was checking them out.

It was my understanding that the stock prairie wheels are stamped steel, and the new type 5 and 6 itp are cnc milled aluminum. Im not sure but the type 4 are cast. The reason i say the stock prairie wheels are steel is that when the bend you can beat it back straight , now aluminum will crack when you do that. An easy way to see would be to take a knife and scratch the backside of the wheel , under the paint you should be able to tell what they are.

TRAIL... get your magnet out... they are all aluminum... cast aluminum won't bend very well, but stamped aluminum was bent into that shape in the 1st place, & though it will work harded, you can bend the bead areas several times, before it will get brittle enough to break...
