problem starting lakota
#1
Alright, today I figured I'd start up the lakota, considering that the last time I rode her was maybe a month ago. I charged the battery because when I first tried pushing the start button, the battery was dead.
So after charging it, she started up for a minute and stopped. Thinking it must be cold I kept trying and now she won't start at all. Believe me, it's not about the patience, becuse I have been out there for a while.
And another thing, I see that small specs of gas are coming out of the supertapp exhaust. Am I running too rich? What should I do?
Thanks for the help

its flooded, take out the spark plug and continue to charge the battery, start her up again and be easy on the choke, (with the spark plug out, the gas will evaporate and when all the gas is gone put the plug back in)
start it with the plug( wow that sounds like something an idiot would say)
let me know how it works out for you

jeepgrl....i had the same thing with my kota. Clean plug and let it sit overnight and next morning it will fire right up. What main jet do you run? Also what position is your mix screw? Thanks Chris

I think I'm running a 135. And as far as the mix screw, I'm not sure. I think it's two and a half turns from being completely screwed on tight (if that even makes any sense). What do you think, is the jet about right?

id take the plug out, spin starter w out plug to blow flooded engine out, take air filter out helps too.Put new plug in recharge battery or since the cold is bad on batteries a new 1 might be in store.if the jetting worked for u last year dont touch a damn thing.

It almost sounds to me like you might have a stuck float. If you can get to the side of the float bowl just give it a lite tap with something hard. This is quite common on motorcyles if they sit for longer periods
