i have a 2001 mojave, and i have a chance to be able to trade for a 1996 300ex. The 300ex is all stock, and my mojave has, a 13t sprocket, shock covers, and 20inch razr tires. what should i do, take the offer or stick with mine. Also which machine has more h.p. THANX

 

stick wit the mojave its has more hp & its fater in mx & drag & trails & its a 250 outrunnin a 300ex & sumtimes if ya have a lil done 400ex i can & is a kaw green team

 

horsepower and speed people will argue with you all day long between the two, as for as i am concered they are so close rider skill is whats gonna win between them. the 30o is a good quad and so is the mojave. you already got money into the mojave and if you like it i would put alittle more into and have yourself a nice bike. besides buying my mojave, i have put less then $1000.00 into mine and have a bike that can do anything anybodyelse is. i ride with 250r, a couple of 300`s, and some 400`s and none of them put me to shame.

 

300ex has an air cooled, not liquid cooled engine like a mojave. a single overhead instead of double overhead cam like a mojave. A hard to use reverse. less wheel travel than a mojave. less HP than a mojave. a higher center of gravity than a mojave. about the same weight. handles not as good as a mojave. has a much weaker frame made of square tubing (not good). so unless you like electric start a WHOLE lot I can see no reason to want a 300ex over a mojave. Plus it is not a Kawasaki.

 

Put a pipe, clamp-on air filter, and jet kit on the mo and it will really wake it up. I still dont like that restricting air box setup on it. You would regret getting a 300ex from a mojave. If you do get a pipe get a White Bros or Supertrapp. The mojave runs quite well for a 250. And if you do sell the mo look into a warrior not a 300ex.
