Default How does the Prairie do against a 400EX

Wondering how fast a Prairie is in comparison to a stock 400ex or Scrambler 500 is a straight drag to 60 or so. I've owned these others so i'm just trying to get a god bench mark on the utilities. I know, I know, it's not a drag racing machine. That's not all I'm after. I just want a power comparison to something I am familiar with. Yes, I know it's better int he mud and stuff, just how about ran take power to top end.

I had a Scram 500 before I got the Prairie, comparing straight line performance they feel very similar. I rarely ride where I can use the top end but I think there very close here too. I would say the Prairie would be faster in a side by side comparison but it's hard to tell going from one to the other. HTH

The prarie 650 keeps up with the 400ex like you would not beleave. They are fast. Need better ground clearance if you ask me(the Prarie) but yeah they do fine against a 400ex

I raced a stock scrammy last weekend and smoked him by about 4 lengths every time. I had 27' tires also.

My Prairie was running pretty much side by side with a z400 in the sand for the 200 yards or so we ran, out ran a 300ex real bad. I left the others alone they were all modded Banshees and Piped Raptors. The prairie will scare a lot of the sport quads pretty good. I out ran a Scrambler 500 last fall and beat a scrambler 400 uptil about 45 or 50 mph. The P700 flat moves for a big utility machine.

I've raced a modded (piped, roller-whatever, airbox, etc.) Scrambler 500 several times with my P700 and smoked him 2-3 quadlengths over 300 feet. At one point, he got the holeshot on me, and I ran him down. My mods were (I sold the P700 last weekend) a full HMF, snorkle, Dynojet needles, cams degreed to VForce specs, and a 6* crank key. HTH

Steve,
2 questions for you. Why did you sell it and what are you planning to buy next to replace it? Just curious.

Happy trails...
