The left front cv boot is close to the front diff and the right side has a some type of extension that is green in color on my bike. Just make sure that the boots don't pull away from the axial or the cv joint. Check for tears in the boot's or leaking grease. Only my 2 cent's.

Man do I feel stupid, I noticed the same thing on my 700. After cleaning mine I saw that and said ...that cant be right. So being the genious I am, I tried to push the boot back...when that didnt work I cut the band and forced it back and secured it with a tie strap. Then I got the bright idea to call my riding buddy who has the same quad and asked what his looked like. As you have probably found out thats the way its supposed to be. I didnt want to post this and sound like such a moron but I didnt want you to do the same dumb thing I did.....Not that you would (lol). I have since cut the tie strap, checked the grase and the boot for any cuts and re-installed it with a strap. Took it out last saturday for a test run....32 miles of MUD + water....so far so good. Have fun ridin. Bob
