Drag racing
Usually, you get 2 or 3 practice runs to see how fast your bike is.
After looking over your time slips you decide what your dial-in will be.
The dial-ins are then put into the computer under your bike #.
When two bikes stage the computer person enters the bike #'s that are racing
The computer automatically offsets the timing of the lights according to the dial-ins given earlier.
Example: If your bike has a dial-in of 5.50 seconds and the bike your racing against has a dial-in of 5.80 seconds
then he will get the green light .3 seconds before you. That way it is an actual race to the finish line.
There is also a thing called "sand bagging" where you could give a dial-in that is slower than what your bike actually runs
giving you an unfair advantage at the lights. This is why if you run a time that is faster than your dial-in time you automatically
lose !
If you get the chance to try bracket racing, try it !! check out www.neorvca.com This is where I race.
