Kawasaki Sucks

You cant say that the P-700 has a better actulator then the 360 because it has the same part #.. As stated previously, it surely is odd that the majority of Prarie owners have not a problem with these things & I and a few others have gone through several. One would automatically assume it's the owner not the Part, but unless others dont ride through any water, snow or wash there bike I'm not doing anything different. I pretty much have come to the conclusion moisture got in this time from when I went riding through some snow several weeks ago. Is that harsh abuse? are these things not made to go through snow? The water has leaked up in the same spot as last time, on the bottom side of the actualtor.
Even though the majority out there have not had problems, I would deffintly consider some type of sealent around the Actulator motor cover to prevent this, it only takes once & the motor is toast, these things seem to be VERY FRAGILE, I bet I only had no more then a few drops in there & it's fryed
Nyroc, I want to fight this through with the dealer & kawi 1st, and possibly even see if some kind of electronic guru might be able to fix it, if not I'll send you my P.O.S actulator..

Well let me start my list,
First after about 100 hours for the first service the mechanic found that the "auctuator" was messed up and I would also have to buy a new belt with it.
Second I had about 375 hours on it and it started making a banging sound inside the belt casing. Came to find out that the first converter came apart and metal from it messed up the secondary converter. The dealer said it wasnt covered by warranty but he would send it to let them examine it to make sure. So we went ahead and done the repairs, $958.18. Called the warranty place, the dealer had never sent the part to the warranty place. But he told us that he did.
Third a week after I had it back, about 4 hours, it started making the sound again. Well the dealer did not clean the casing out good and a piece of metal tore both of them again. Well took it back to the shop and they are paying for this one but one of the parts is on back order (apparently they have alot of trouble with them then) and wont be here for another 2 weeks.
So in the last 6 weeks I have had my atv here at my house for 5 days.
And the reason I dont buy a 700 is because they are to expensive.

Here is the letter I wrote to Kawisaki:
Reference:
2003 Kawasaki ATV
Purchase date – 11-25-02
Purchased from: Russell L. Sampson
Deep South Cycle & Power Equipment
14558 US 19 South
Thomasville, GA 31757
On February 28, 2004 my ATV began having problems. Please note this ATV has less than 300 hours on it. It sounded as if rocks were bouncing inside the belt housing and it would not engage into neutral. First thing Monday morning, March 1st, I took it to the dealership where I purchased it from. Thursday around noon, March 4th I stopped by to find out what was wrong.
The mechanic explained the converters (both front and back) needed to be replaced and he stated at that time he didn’t think the extended warranty would cover it because it was considered normal wear. He also stated at that time that the front converter had broken off and upon doing so it also tore the back converter up. I told him that day to send the parts to warranty services for their review and evaluation, as I had purchased the extended warranty for it to cover these types of problems.
About a week later, I was informed by the dealership that the warranty would not cover the parts. He told me he had sent the parts for evaluation. I proceeded with the repairs and paid $918.80 out of my pocket for the parts & labor. I brought the ATV home on Thursday, March 18th. When I picked it up, he gave me the old parts. That seemed strange to me, so I called warranty services and found out from them that the dealership had never sent the parts for the evaluation. I was told by warranty services to take the parts back to the dealer and have him send them.
In my research on the internet, I found information stating that Kawasaki seems to be having problems with these converters.
Wednesday afternoon, March 24th, I was using the ATV on the farm and it started making the same noise as it had the first time. It had less than five hours of time since the repair. The next morning, I took it to my dealership. At that time I also took the old parts and I told my dealer that I had talked to warranty services and they wanted him to send them the old parts for evaluation.
A couple of days later I called to check on the status of the repair. Once again, when they got in there, it was the converters (front & rear). My dealer told me evidently it was not repaired correctly, as a piece of metal was left in the housing which caused the damage. Obviously, this repair will cost him and not me, but I depend on this ATV for my occupation, so it is costing me. I was told one of the parts was on backorder and could possibly take up to three (3) weeks to get it in.
Today, April 6th, I called my dealership and was told the part was still not in. I called warranty services again to check the status of the evaluation of the old parts. AGAIN, they are telling me they have not received the old parts from the dealership for evaluation. AGAIN, they want me to have the dealership send the old parts. Well, he’s misled us about it twice, so what good does it to for me to say anything else to him about sending the old parts to warranty services for evaluation. I think you may have some pull in this area, as he represents your product and these actions represent Kawasaki Corporation as a whole.
I purchased a Kawasaki because of its reputation for dependability and serviceability. The actions being taken (or should I say not being taken) by the dealership only makes Kawasaki’s reputation undesirable. At this point, I don’t think I could consider purchasing another Kawasaki of any kind, nor could I recommend a Kawasaki to anyone I know.
I would appreciate any help you may give me regarding this problem. If this dealership continues on this route, I’m not so sure you need him representing your product.
Thank you for your time.

This is rediculous, Kawasaki needs a major recall on the worthless, POS actulator. I will now be putting my 3 4wd/2wd actulator in the last 8 months, and for the 2nd time water has creeped in & blown it up.. I dont power wash I use a simple garden hose to wash my quad, & I dont run through lakes, simple puddles & mud.. Youd think they could design a actulator that could keep water out, especially on a 4wd machine. I'd like to take Kawi CEO & shove this part right up his ace

We love our Kawasakis!!! Our p360 and p700 have been in the water up to racks many times with no issues. Especially the p360 as the wife loves to play in the mud and water knowing that I have to deal with it if it dies or gets stuck.

I had a similiar problem with a Suzuki snowmobile (they made them one year, it was a silver flek artic cat). I too had nothing but problems, they did everything to keep it running but it continually blew pistons. I got mad and dropped it off at their headquarters in Toronto much to their dissaproval and went home. I wrote a letter stating stating each time it was down and when I got it back. I copied in everyone CEO (last name was Suzuki), Dealer, my LAWYER asking for a new machine. They called me several days later and offered me my money back less tax as they were not making another machine the next year. The only question they asked was how did I ever get 1200 miles on a machine with that many problems. I told them half of the miles were put on being towed back to trailer; which was true. If you haven't sent yet would include your lawyer.
