ITP 589's
#1
Don't want to wear the topic out but I'm looking for a set of tires for my new 04 P700. Mods to date include a highlifter rear lift and clutch kit. I was thinking of the ITP 589's 27-9-12 front and 27-11-12 rear. I'm sure they'll satisfy my traction requirements and have the added benefit of a little groud clearance (which is also important to me). My question is how these tires will affect performance - top speed and low end power. Would I be better off going for a set of 26's and leaving the groud clearance behind or what? Would moving to a set of aluminum rims drop the weight and offset the loss in power of the big tires? How do all of the factors come to play? Let me know what you guys think! Thanks in advance.

My 589's are great in my opinion I like the looks and traction. They aren't the lightest but a good tire. My top speed didn't change with these tires on my p700 I guess I have the power to turn them easily just not the gearing to get over 70. I doubt you will notice a big diff in performance at all on the bottom end. I would definately reccommend a set of c series alum wheels.

Sask - i got an 02 650 and i put 27-9.5-12 F and 27-12-12 R on stock rims no lift or nothing highlifter OutLaws. i did put in the dalton clutch spring. both primary and secondary. and i have no problems turning them. even before i put the springs in i only felt very little motor loss, no really even noticeable unless your in the thick mud. but i have no problems with them.
