I got stomped by those 650 bombs pulling and I have got quite a bit of stuff done to this p700 I didn't beleive there was that much difference in those machines but dang they will pull a sled a long ways. Not fast but long.

I could pretty easily beat the 500's but those dang 650 they weighed 100 or so pounds more and they beat me by 20 feet I was shocked

Weight and how it is transfered is the key to pulling. If you could get the weight to transfer to the middle of the quad just under the motor you would pull it all day long. Though the frame would probably take a beating. Fill your racks full of sand or something, lol. You could also fill your tires full of water. The Kawi's have the power but just not the weight and thus traction to use it properly.

To really "do" pulls, you need to weigh the quad & driver as a package, & get them all the same... 100 lbs more in quad or driver weight will make a huge difference in how they pull... if you go to a pull that doesn't weight the quads, the best thing is to either hide added weight ( I'm not recomending this, as it's cheating, though not really ??? the best place is to add lead to the factory stoage box under the seat... ) What I do recomend is to find a 300 - 400 lb buddy, & let him pull with your quad... then you'll clean up... seen it happen, know it works...

IMO, after the weight is equalized, the next factor is the tires size & tread pattern...

prairie650and700 - don't worry about it. I think SHOTGUN would agree, a pull without weight equalization is not a legitimate pull.
The first pull we had, you had to pull what you brought, no added weight. 350 pound riders on Polaris 500's were out pulling P650's. At our next pull we weighed all machines and riders, and then added sandbags to bring all machines up to the weight of the heaviest driver/machine combo. That resulted in P650's coming in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
All the Polaris 500, 600, and 700's went home with their tails between their legs. Weight is EVERYTHING!

yep; what Scott said.

We have 1,000, 1,100 and 1,200 pound, 501 cc and up classes, Bombs do well in the 1,000 lbs class but as the classes go up in weight, they do less,

Mike has a good point, you might have to go to a bar type tire, even though lots of people use 589's.

I weigh 870 on my p700 I had already added 350 lbs on it and was still 100+under the dang bomb. I ran of room to put more weight and secure it good. It makes for a pretty wild ride when you get the lucky job of getting the sled set up up for hte rest of class. They didn't put weight on the actually sled (front)until it leaped about 3 or 4 feet high. The inertia of the sled pan coming up jerks my little prairie around pretty good. I have never had to weigh more than 1150 in a class but the bomb drivers put there huge compartment full of lead and still had room on the rack for more. I don't know if 100 pounds would have made me win but I do know my run was really wild compared the bombs. It made every one look again as I was moving as much dirt as the hot rod classes.

I have been pulling for a few years, even though I haven't pulled the Prairie yet. We have a 1050lb 4x4 class and if there is someone that can't make the weight we all will agree to add weight to weigh up to his weight. I have always put all my added weight on my front rack as far forward as I can get it. I know it works well on the grizzlies and the Cats I will have to experiment with the Prairie. I like stock ties best for pulling or the 25" Mudlites seem to work really well. I air them down to about 2lbs for a nice wide foot print. I also will block the rear suspension so It can not compress or extend to keep it from hopping. This works for me.
