i have a fmf pipe and a powerbomb header and a whole bunch of other stuff and i smoked him easily and i raced a all stock 2004 suzuki z400 and smoked that bad too

what the he!! do u mean DS 650's are a heavy pile of **** quad the worst one out there even the guy who owned it said thaT

 

I agreethere slow for there size........This tread is like me bragging I smoked a 87' 200sx quad with my atc 200x..I had 3 lenghts by time I was in 3rd....Hell I could barley see him in 5th!...Pick a close match before you brag!

 

The DS-650 may not be the quickest Quad made, but I can tell you this, it's diffentily one of the best built quads there is, hands down, Putt

 

I'll agree with that....I'm not sure how the engine is but I hear the frame and susp. are built like a tank!

 

The Engine in the DS-650 is built by Rotax based also in Canada, if you were to look it up in the dictionary, the definition would read "close to industructable" The DS is built like a tank, as so is the engine. There still isn't many quads that can touch it in wide open dessert racing nor all out sand drags if it's mod'd right. If you care to see a pretty bad *** DS, take a look at my photo's, although the motor is pretty well stock, it can hold it's own fairly well, and Randal, unless you have a ton poured into the motor of your 400, I wouldn't be braging quite so fast about beating a DS. The rider of the DS must not have much time on the bike. They have good power! A good rider on a DS would probably leave you behind.

 

Mr. Putt, how fast do you go through rough terrain riding? I live in California, and we have nothing, but river beds, and Dunes. Which means If your planning on racing a DS650 you might want to digg in your pockets pretty deep, and pull out enough money to buy your self a set of Long Travel A-arms, and some way better the stock shocks, because if you went trail riding with a ds650, and I'm refuring to all other qauds unless your quad is a 4x4 your going to be serously held back by Bolders, and Rutts 4x4 aren't the greatest in the dunes either. The Ds650 comes stock ready to go almost anywhere, and with some upgraded shock it's going everywhere, but don't get me wrong I want a Honda TRX450r because of track times. This is where the DS650 sucks it's almost time meaning on a track (Tracks) isn't any good for the DS650.

Also How much do you way? If you way under 180lbs, and your bike only ways 345lbs bringing up the total of 525lbs

The ds650 comes stock at 495lbs add anyones weight to that and you have a Heavy load. I weigh 320lbs, and you can touch me on my bike Tiger. Now you do the math 745lbs

 

5 1/2 years later, it still doesn't matter.
