The .5 second flashing means failure of the 2wd/4wd actuator.
Pulling itself without giving it gas means the idle is too high or the belt is too tight. You ought to be able to hear if the idle is high. Lower if if it soulnds high .The belt is easy to loosen. I have instructions on my website. It is almost identical to the 650, so look for 650 belt adjustment.
The 2wd4wd actuator may not actually be bad. Check connections and fuses. It is possible that the controller is bad. You need a manual to tell if the actuator is bad yourself. You need a voltmeter to check it.
If your actuator is bad and the shop replaces it, can you give me the old one? I am trying to get a bad one so I can figure out a way to make a vacuum operated one to help people out that run theirs in the mud a lot. I will pay shipping.
