Drag Racing at the local strip...
Well now that my motor is finally about dialed in, I've been thinking about going to the local drag strip, to check out some times... I'm Looking for suggestions for tires to use ( I'd rather use a set I already have )... IMO, my best rear choices are...
22" X 11" X 9" GBC Schredders... Probably my best choice, but I really like these tires for hare scramble racing, & I'm afraid they will wear very quickly with all the biting edges on the tires... this tire is very quick on my Prairie with the 22" O.D.
25" X 12" X 10" Stock dunlops ( stock on our 300 Prairie )
25" X 10" X 12" Stock dunlops ( stock on the 650 Prairie )
25" X 11" X 12" Bad Lands radials... Brand new not much time on them yet... while I think they'll be a great trail tire, the tread IMO, won't work as well on the strip... radial tire, so it will have a good contact patch...
26" X 11" X 12" Goodyear MTR radials... most closely resembles a DOT tread pattern large solid rubber tread blocks, radial tire contact patch... 26" O.D. may result in higher top speeds at end of the strip, but may negitively effect the acceleration...
The Schredders & the MTR's are the 2 that I think will work the best... both would be very difficult to "burn out" & would take very different clutch set ups...
some others I've been looking at, that I think hold great potential for drag strip tires are...
Pure Sports Bandits... 22" X 10" X 9"
Kenda K502 Terra Tracs... 23" X 10.5" X 12"
Chene Shin C826... 22" X 11" X 10"
Duro HF-224... 23" X 10.5" X 12"
I know there are some of you that have been to the strips, what are you running for tires, & what do you think of my choices ???

Running on asphalt? Get some slicks man. Anything other than asphalt use a radial like on the Z400, Raptor and the new DS650's. They contact very well, wear OK and are very very light. I found my radials on my Z400 to be very durable, I would love a set on my V.

I don't really have a suggestion Mike, I guess it depends on whether it's pavement, grass or dirt, The next time I race, I'm going to the dealer and borrowing a set of the 22" Holeshot's off of a V-Force, they should bolt right to My P700 and being lighter and shorter should help, at least i think it should help......

A gallon of bleach, you'll smoke them the hole 300 ft....lol
do what i did when I was teen, we would put light oil in the windshield wiper and run the hoses to the back wheels. We weren't very fast, but it looked like we could be...lol
I'm with Brent, get a vid....I'd like to see that monster with it wheels in the air all 300 ft. Or I'd like to show the vid... when they give you last rites.

SHOTGUN... see that shows the difference in our mentality when we were younger... we'd fill the windsheild washer with booze, & run the hose under the dash, & plug the loose end onto a screw, so it looked like it belonged there... it would pump just the right amount of whiskey into your can of Coke, & you never got busted for having the bottle...LOL...
