Default More Impressions on the 26" ATRs'

These tires are definably acting differently than the 25" inchers.
Firstly, after carefully measuring between the two, the 26" rears are at least 1" taller and rounder at the top than the 25" rears. The fronts are no taller. Yes I checked the size labeling. I have written ITP an inquiry\complaint email and will give them until tomorrow evening before I call and ask for the head engineer.
The 26" roll difference between the front and rears is a tad over 3". It handles and goes in and out of 4x4 very well so far.
I ran the 25's @ 4.5 psi on the front and @ 4.0 psi on the rears. After lots of experimenting this was the best handling\steering\comfort I could get, and as low as I could go before the steering effort increased.
I tried the ITP recommended 6 to 7 psi on both sets and its just to harsh, and on hard crush & run gravel it felt like the road was oiled. Any sudden moves or speedy turns were freaky.
I have found on the 26's @ 5psi on both the front and rear to be as nice, or as comfortable as the 25's were @ 4.5 front & 4.0 rear.
The kicker here is the steering is much easier than the 25's ever were on any surface in 2x4 or 4x4.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE these tires. They are absolutely perfect for how I ride. I am however greatly disappointed as a consumer in seeing no difference in height on the fronts and will be pressuring ITP to make good.
So if you like your 25" ATR's or are considering a set of the 26's, WAIT and see if they fix the front tire height problem.
