Default Praire 700 gas mileage :(

Is it true that the 700 gets about 15 miles to the gallon?

I think thats pretty close, maybe even more. I've never really checked on my p650, but last summer I went on an 80 mile ride one day and when I got back home there was still 2 bars left on my gas gauge.

Sounds about right but it depends on the type of riding and how heavy you are on the gas. I spend all almost all day in 4x4 and probally half of it in low and I get around 50-60 miles before I need to refil. Our rides tend to be technical so our speeds average pretty slow. Typically we cover about 60-70 miles in our 6-8 hour rides (riding time) and I use over 1 tank of gas. I always carry extra gas as where we ride it is a long walk out.

It depend a lot on the riding I get 45 to 50 per tank in rough muddy conditions requiring a lot of starts and stops. I get about 60 per tank if I'm running in high 2wd most of the time as in road riding.

Rode a trail this weekend it took 2 hrs to go 4 miles and only got 38 miles total before the last bar started flashing. HTH
