Default Air Filter oil???

I have a question about my air filter for my p700. I read on the internet that I need to use oil on the bottom of my air filter? Is that right? I've never heard of that before. How much do I put on? What kind of oil? I don't remember seeing it in my manual. If it is let me know. Should you put oil on all air filters?? Thanks

You need to keep your airfilter clean and oiled with air filter oil. On the bottom of the filter you are supposed to put grease to keep it tightly sealed to the airbox. You can get all of that stuff online or at any atv/motorcycle shop. I use twin air filters and filter oil on my p700 and they work great.

always wash from the inside of your filter out, I like to let mine sit in water for a few minutes, and rinse out all of the residue, and then oil it up. It's different with a K&N though, there are a few more steps w/ a K&N. I used PJ1 filter oil when I had my stock air filter. Filter oil is filter oil. as long as it is for your type of filter (non paper). Just keep it clean and oiled and you will be good to go. as for how much. Just make sure it is evenly coated and every square inch has filter oil on it. 2 coats of filter oil should work.

You need to buy air filter oil to oil them. As far as I know all atvs should require air filter maintenace.

Default Air Filter oil???

I have a twin air filter that I clean in gas like all my foam filters.I then dry it out & use 1030 oil to oil it. Cant buy air filter oil at local auto parts stores & I refuse to pay shipping ordering it from atv suppliers or being ripped of at a bike shop.Have had no problems. Just clean the filter often & dont over oil it. Brushog

If you are talking foam filters, yes they need to be oiled....i clean mine with gas...let it dry....and then apply gear oil....my owners manual suggests gear oil....the oil helps the dust and dirt stick to the filter instead of working its way through.
