Well, after 307 miles and 40 hours I was just getting used to the whine from the gears when this morning the oil light started blinking. I called the dealer where I bought it and was told to bring it in which isn't gonna happen since he's 321.8 miles away. He then said I should change the oil and filter since the filter might be clogged. Well, I've been changing my own oil and filters for every vehicle I've ever had for the last 42 years and never did I have a clogged filter. Considering there's less than 200 miles on the oil and filter, I'm wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this.

Here's where I am. I just changed the oil and oil filter and the light is still blinking. When the oil was cold the light was out and as it warmed up, it started blinking, this only took about 3 minutes. The light then went out at 21 mph but came back on immediately when I took my thumb off the accelerator. This makes it sound to me like lousy compression. Light goes off while accelerating, goes on when decellerating or riding at a steady speed. To check to see if it was a electrical problem, I disconnected the battery to re-set the electronics and the light is still blinking. Looks like I'll be driving up to Billings MT after all.

that sounds like weak oil pressure to me..as the rpms go up the pump is able to push enough to turn the sensor off..maybe the water in the oil damaged the sensor or damaged the pump..just a guess..

I don't know how in the world I would have gotten water in the oil. The deepest water I went through was lower than the floorboards which is less than the dealer told me I could go through. The drain oil was totally clear and if there were water in it it should be foamy or cloudy, correct? I gotta tell ya, I'm bummed.

Metallikev, Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to head up to Billings next week and will post the results. I want to go up there and get a Wendy's Spicey Chicken sandwich anyway.
