Default tech help please

I need help with my father in-laws quad it is a 2000 kawasaki 300 auto 2x4. The problem is that when we started it today it would not idle so i turned up the idle, then it started and idled good but when you put it in gear it would die. It will not move at all as soon as you put it gear and hit the throttle it would die.I did not have a chance to check it out just wondered if yall could give me some tips on what to check out. Sorry about the length. Thanks phillip

Check the condition of the air filter, check to make sure the carb boots are sealed tight, check the plug.

Check the spark plug. if that is not it check the carb for any build up. After checking those two things, if the problem is occuring then it could be your jetting. Also check your choke lever it may be stuck.
