Belt jumping noise?
#1
I now have a noise coming from my belt\kebc area that I’m not sure about. When I’m in low gear and let off the gas it makes a belt ratcheting noise. It sounds like it’s jumping the groves on the belt. Is this the drive clutch bearing going bad? I replaced the belt and the noise stayed. Don’t use low that much, so don’t know how long it’s been doing it.

If it sounds kind of like gears grinding... it is, & TRIUMPH is correct... if this is the case, also check your motor mounts, often it is loose mounts & a slightly off position motor, that causes the shifter to need adjustment...
It is also possible for the KBEC bearing to make a similar noise, & one persons description of a noise, will be different than anothers... My KBEC bearing made more of a whining noise, rather than a ratcheting type noise...
