How do you attach the two metal strips (antenna) to the coaxial terminal? Do they need direct contact to the terminal? Do I need to solder them to the terminal?

I soldered mine on and then tie wrapped them to the front plastic grill in about 4 places on each side. They are holding up pretty good so far.

The adhesive didnt last very long either....ended up using epoxy on that
Glued it to the inside of the handlebar plastic....ran my 18 guage ant. wires up to the screws
at the outside by the grips and epoxyied them bout half way
