stupid swingarm bearing question?

ok, ive read alot of you guys are having problems w/ your swingarm bearings going bad.so here goes.for one, if i grab the back rack on my p650 and shake it side to side it makes a weird clicking noise. for two, i bought a set of gator tires for it (26x10x12 and 26x12x12) and on pavement or even going kinda fast on gravel roads the rearend is REALLY squirelly. so do you guys think that its the tires or maybe my swingarm bearings are shot? im ready to sell those dang tires if they are the problem, cause its pretty bad. even w/ the stock tires on it when going on an off camber trail when the wheeler leans it makes that clicking noise. it sounds like its coming from about the middle of the quad and its not the gear slop click either, because it hasnt always done this. any help is greatly appreciated. anyone else have gators on theirs? and is it pretty squirelly?

Well if its moving around that bad , I would check all the bolts to the swing arm and anything else back there for that matter.
For the most part you should change the bearings anyway , I do every season but I ride alot also. I had a Banshee do that to me and it was a swingarm bolt that came lose and fell off. Try to jack up the rear of the atv and check the play in your swingarm.
Good luck.

No question the bearings are bad or going bad. I’ve done mine twice. The bearing grease washes out then the bearing quits turning and starts clicking and then the little rollers come out and your whole rear end really starts to move around. The first time I had the shop replace them and I just did it again 2 weeks ago myself. I cut little access holes in the plastic next to the bolts so I could get the 30mm socket in there better. You need a 12mm allen wrench to get the left side off . The left side has a lock nut on it with a stud. Nyroc posted a fix and some ideas on sealing the back side of the bearing. It wasn’t that hard to fix just took a couple of hours because I hadn’t done it before. Now that I know it won’t take long to do.

The spacer that mates with the swingarm seal munches the seal when the bearing is bad.
When the seal is gone, the spacer chomps away at the swingarm itself and could ruin it. That could cost over $300 alone in ronayers dollars, or $500 in dealership dollars, or even more if you let the dealer ship fix it.
Never ride it with a bad swingarm bearing. It is kinda easy to regrease them if they aren't bad.
