Are tou talking about the rectifier? If so, If you have a good battery that doesnt require alot of charging; one that will hold its charge longer with some pull on it the rectifier shuts off the drain of the magneto. Glad your reading and not listening to me talk I`d be out of wind. In doing that less strain on motor. Will it work? I dont know. 8% is alot of gain for that.

Redgoblin i got one and it charges harder when activated, i did this for drag racing reasons, when it is activated it charges 14.8 v with lights on and fan running (stock was 14.2) and when the battery is at full charge i can feel a little difference it is better, but if it is activated it takes more power and i think you can feel that also for the worst, it does work however but it is no 8 percent gain and if your batt is not up to par it will hurt you, hope i helped J.H.
