Default What is the normal "Gap" for a ring (Bayou 185)?

When i take a ring off the piston and put it in the cylinder, i see a distance (gap) between the two ends of that ring. I would like to know what is the normal distance (GAP) for a good ring. I have a low compression and every other parts (valve, piston, cylinder) are O.K. so it must be the rings! Thanks!

I don't have specs on your bike but the general gap is .004 for every inch of bore.

A 4 inch bore would have .016

A 3 inch bore .012

A 2 inch bore .008
