Ok i have a 03 kfx400. decided not to sell it, my cousin bought a yfz450, i have to beat him in every race, Saw him ride 2 days ago and he sucks bad at clutching, dieing out and such, i think he will get better but when he does what will i have to do to beat him in a 300-600 foot drag. He is all stock and will stay that way. I will do any mods besides a BBK, which i dont want unless its my last chance. cash is not really an issue at this point. Im haveing a problem choiceing my exaust, noise is not an issue but performance is the mane consern. Mods i plan to get asap:

Full exaust
Remove air box lid
K&N filter
drop a tooth on front sproket


What else can i get and which muffler?

 

THose mods you have look great. I dont know about changing the sprocket, though if its for more accelertion than for the better. I am running what you see, except for the nos right now because i am waiting for the right part from boondockers. Its Fast, i havent lost to a 400 and toast raptors all of the time. But, when i run into a yfz450 with a good driver, the usually win. if its a stock bike i will usaully beat it. Take in mind , i can holeshot at about 7000 rpm. THe kfx-400 is the best bike for the money and for trail riding, his a trick that u can show some one with a yfz its called reverse. When i race a fast yfz they only start pulling on me after 3rd. other than that i can beat them off the line no prob! But you get these mods and you are garrenteed a $ucking fast quad.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I forgot about the cdi which one is best on a kfx?

And were do u order most of your parts, i have the skills and the tools to do most of my own installs

 

I have the big guns cdi, it s cheap and it works, but you can order your parts online or look at the magazines.
